Dear readers, clients and supporters,

A year has been added to IMTI’s hopefully long life, it brought joyful and sad moments. Nevertheless, the year witnessed our continuous strive not only to survive, but to grow in size and scope. IMTI’s quest for excellence was clearly demonstrated in the hard work geared toward a better contribution that shapes our future.

Despite the tragedies that took place during 2006, our hard work bared diverse and sweet fruits that I am happy to share with you. Also, I would like to highlight our 2007 plan and kindly ask you to join us in making the IMTI learning journey a success.

In 2006, IMTI had the opportunity to grow both at the local and international levels.  We were able to; establish new strategic partnerships (INTRAC, British Council, and Institute of Finance at the Lebanese Ministry of Finance), new working relationships with donors (Finnish Embassy), and new networks (GIFT-MENA); reach Lebanese higher education institutions and draw in new clients (NDU); and organize an international workshop at Glasgow, Scotland (during Civicus World Assembly). Guided by our mission, every project we undertake and every plan we draw, our aim is to excel on all fronts.

IMTI track record and credibility have been formidable. It was the result of eighteen years of cumulative experience that were pioneered by committed board members, highly dedicated staff members, as well as its loyal and dependable cadre of volunteers and interns. I would also like to add that we could not have achieved our current goals had it not been for IMTI’s supporters - the nucleus behind the building of better societies.

IMTI will continue to serve as a conduit for our youth - voicing their concerns and the issues facing them and providing them with practical skills and the tools they will need as tomorrows leaders.

It is an important achievement to reach the top, however, continuing to be at the top and keeping our eyes upward is much more important. We promise you that IMTI will continue to be at the top and we commit to its continuous improvement.
